FAQ's
- Do not use vinyl or tile floor care products on wood floors. Acrylic waxes can cause wood to become slippery and appear dull quickly
- Do not use a steamer to clean your floor
- Put rubber backed mats at external doors. Throw rugs should be used by internal doors and in front of chairs and sofas
- never wet mop a hardwood floor. Use warm water and vinegar applied with a damp cloth. Wipe up food and other spills immediately with a dampened linen or cotton based cloth
- Do not over wax a wood floor. Bees wax is best, wax only the areas requiring attention and only if really needed.
- Use good quality felt pads on the bases of furniture. This will reduce the risk of damage to your floor
- Ladies high heels can dent any floor surface as can small stones trapped in the soles of boots and trainers. So wipe yout feet
- If you completely lift furniture when moving it around the room you will reduce the risk of scratching the floor
- In the kitchen wipe up spillages immediately. Use a non slip or rubber mat in front of the sink area
- We do not recommend the use of hardwood flooring in toilets, bathrooms or shower rooms. This is due to the high levels of water and steam which through time will have adverse effects
- Attention should be paid to maintaining constant temperature and humidity levels in rooms where hardwood flooring has been laid. Excessive fluctuation in temperature or humidity can have detrimental effect such as shrinkage and or expansion
- We recommend the use of humidifiers / dehumidifiers as an aid to maintaining moisture / humidity levels in rooms where hardwood flooring has been laid. These can be relatively inexpensive and worth their weight in gold
- It is advisable not to dry clothes in rooms where hardwood flooring has been laid
